About me

Sitting outside a coffee shop, talking with a friend, it seems like things are starting to get better. Just then there’s a squeal of tires, a crash, and from that moment maintaining the conversation becomes difficult.  You notice words become less clear, and there’s a fuzziness in the background.  It seems like the next few hours and likely the entire day is going to be challenging.  You have coping mechanisms and can talk to friends and family, but there’s little that really makes it better until it just passes on its own.

This is what it’s like to live life as a highly sensitive person.

Whether something is as dramatic as a car accident, or as simple as a loud office with sights, sounds, and interruptions everywhere, the distractions of life pile up. We look for solace from nature and quiet contemplation but it’s never enough. As a highly sensitive person, I have spent the last 8 years developing an innovative approach for relieving stress and increasing relaxation while releasing all the stored baggage that keeps us stuck.

Resonant Sound Therapy is my system to both heal past wounds, and to help develop sensitive awareness into the gift it can truly be. I know how hard it can be to find a good therapist that fits, or how hard it is to look for someone new. In addition, for people who have a history of trauma, it can be hard to know who is safe to talk to. This is why Resonant Sound Therapy as a gentle and specific process is so important. Being told what to do isn’t the answer anymore. You get to be the focus, you get to be heard deeply for what you want and need, you get to be fully understood. That is essential to the RST process.

I specialize in working with highly sensitive or traumatized people, and their families. Using a blend of trauma therapies with the creative process allows each individual to find their own voice and have it be heard.

Being someone that is also highly sensitive I understand what it feels like to smell, taste, feel, perceive, and express yourself with an intense awareness of your surroundings, your body, and your emotions. This also makes recalling painful events or situations more difficult, as you tend to re-experience them almost as vividly as they were experienced the first time. New people and situations may evoke worry or fear. It requires understanding these feelings to work with them effectively. Training & Background

I am a Licensed Associate Counselor fully trained in EMDR with a Master’s in Music. I have over 300 hours of training and supervised experience in Psychodrama and Experiential Therapy techniques and am an Intuitive Experiential Therapy practitioner for both groups and individuals while working toward EMDRIA certification. I have additional training in DBT therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and TRE for trauma associated body processing. I also have 30 years experience as a professional musician, teacher, educator, and coach. I know how to listen, create, and I know what it takes to heal.
